Getting started

Press ⇧⌘2 or Start Recording from the menu bar. Pick Display, Window or Area, then Record. Press the shortcut again to stop; the editor opens with your recording. Adjust background, cursor and zoom on the right, drag zoom segments on the timeline, then export to MP4 or GIF.

macOS will not open it

It should open normally: signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised. If the browser warns about the download, that is the browser's reputation check on a new file, not macOS. Save the disk image, open it, and drag Zoomcast to Applications.

Nothing happens on Record

Grant Screen Recording: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, tick Zoomcast, then quit and reopen. macOS applies the grant only after a relaunch.

No sound

System audio records what other apps play; if nothing played, the track is silent. Your voice needs the mic toggle on and Microphone access granted.

Zoom in the wrong place

Drag a zoom segment to move it, drag an end to resize, right-click to remove, or Add zoom here at the playhead. Regenerate rebuilds them from your clicks.
