Zoomcast is a macOS screen recorder. It records what you ask it to record, saves the result on your Mac, and does nothing else.
What it collects
Nothing. No personal data is collected, transmitted or stored. No analytics, no accounts, no advertising, no tracking, and no network connections.
What stays on your Mac
Recordings are folders in a location you choose (Movies/Zoomcast by default). Each holds the raw video, the audio tracks you enabled, images of the cursor shapes seen, and a timeline of cursor positions, clicks, scrolls and window frames. That timeline only exists so the editor can draw the cursor and the zoom; it never leaves your Mac, and you can delete a recording like any folder.
Settings (shortcut, frame rate, codec, audio toggles, save folder) are stored locally in the standard macOS preferences.
Screen and audio
The screen, system audio and microphone are captured only while a recording is running, shown by the menu bar timer. Nothing is captured before you press Record or after you stop. No keystrokes are recorded.
Permissions
Screen Recording is required and requested before the first capture. Microphone is requested only when you switch the mic on, and used only for that recording.
